Offshore Wind Energy

Conservatives: Can we finally agree on the need for energy legislation?
What sense does it make from a conservative’s perspective to send money to people in the Middle East who use it to kill us? What sense does it make to pretend global warming isn’t real, which is like ignoring the risks of offshore drilling except that the consequences will effect the whole planet and not just our coast? The basic situation being that we could supply our energy needs with some combination of nuclear energy, wind, and efficiency improvements without damaging our standard of living, if companies like BP didn’t prevent it by contributing to politicians of both parties and blocking cap and trade or a carbon tax that by law is 100% returned to the public.
I was with you until cap and trade. The carbon offsets to allow the wealthy to continue to pollute could be planting a stand of mangroves somewhere in Belize. It simply puts the energy burden on the working consumers. Cap and trade will be a disaster for everyone except the extremely poor and the richest people. The middle and working classes take it in the shorts again.

Adhesives in Marine Engineering $205 Composites and other lightweight structures are being considered for use on ships in order to make marine transport more sustainable and efficient. Renewable energy production, such as offshore wind turbines are experiencing tremendous growth with governments actively promoting and supporting investment into green energy production. One of the key success factors is the ability to join efficiently and reliably composites and other materials with adhesive bonding being the preferred joining method. This new book addresses the important aspects of design, testing, fabrication, inspection and repair of bonded structural joints. |
